Introduction
This guide is intended for those already familiar with the theory and practice of Planting by the Moon, and who need only to know the dates/times for the current year. Even then this can only be an approximate guide, since in the composition of it there is no space to include subdivisions of an hour. For this reason times are given to nearest hour, but always erring on the side of caution - so that if the Moon changes sign at 10.45 pm you will find that you are told planting of one type goes on until 10pm and that planting of another type beings at 11pm. This is so that you can never plant at the wrong time and you must put up with the inconvenience or buy the full manual . There is also no space to give or explain the bad aspects of Saturn, during which it is unfavourable to plant/sow. This is why the times given are sometimes chopped up or disjointed in appearance - this is in order that you avoid the Saturn bad times, but are not told why. Again, you must refer to the full guide if you want full information. This is a quick guide, and it is the best it can be, that is all. It is not incorrect, but it will not satisfy the curiosity of those who need a reason for everything (like me).
The guide is taken from the A4 handy planner which is available with the main calendar for £1 extra (main calendar price £7.50) or separately for £1.50.
Printing instructions
The first set of 12 images can be clicked on to emerge full size in your image editor. They can then be printed from there one month at a time, or you can pick them up and put them down in a program such as Microsoft Publisher (where they were created) and arrange them as you wish and print from there.
The last two images each contain six months. They are clickable to emerge full size in your image editor and can be printed off from there or taken into another program and arranged as you wish.
I hope you enjoy and find them useful, but I would still like you to buy the full guide! Apart from having the calendar pages, it has lots and lots of useful gardening information collected over the years by me and other people; it has charts for different aspects of gardening which you can refer to; best of all it has diary of a gardener, the past year's events, which never have anything to do with gardening at all, and are extremely humorous!
My thanks to Sue Thompson and Christine Packham for pointing out mistakes in the calendars - these have now been rectified. Thanks. |
